The Portland Federation of Teachers and Classified Employees is...
 A labor union representing upwards of 1400 teachers, classroom paraprofessionals, secretaries, clerks, certified occupational
therapy assistants and licensed physical therapy assistants employed by Portland Public School District No. 1. In addition, under the District Council of Unions (DCU), PFTCE represents
campus monitors, community agents, driver's ed instructors, and occupational and physical therapists.
Offering strength through unity. We endeavor to achieve a high level of professionalism by promoting personal and
professional development for both the Local and each individual. member.
Striving to provide effective collective bargaining representation and contract enforcement for its members; fighting
all forms of bias in education employment and education delivery; organizing all education employees for the benefit of the entire education community; and working for passage
and retention of just laws which will improve the educational environment for students and employees.
